Marked with a pin, the places or telegraph lines to which the telegraphs in this room correspond to. On this map the line La Rochette-Paris and Paris is marked. The optical telegraph in France had a network of 4,800 km and 556 stations that connected around 30 cities. With this system of telegraphy, a message could be sent between any of the cities that belonged to the network, which in turn linked with the capital, Paris (1794-1852).
