Cogent is an American company that currently has more than 120,000 km of fiber distributed in 219 metropolitan areas in 51 countries. It has focused its development on internet service, although in recent years it has also begun to offer infrastructure services such as Dark Fiber or private lines. In 2023 Cogent made the acquisition of the company Sprint in the United States which increases the number of km in its infrastructure to approximately 250,000 km.
