In the mid-60s there was no instant messaging or even SMS, much less WhasApp. For example, if you urgently wanted to locate a doctor who at that time was watching a movie in the theater with his wife, the projection would stop and from the booth the entire room would be given a warning: “If Dr. So-and-so is in the room, please report to his office urgently.” After this notice the screening resumed, the doctor went out and called the consultation or whatever was offered.
