Commercial navigation brought with it the need to communicate between sea and land and with ships, the Code of signals of the Spanish Navy (1429-30) arises. Naval codes were so important that in 1927 the International Radiotelegraph Conference established the International Code of Signals. as well as the code of flags for the sea.
