SOUND

Sound is waves produced by vibrations, caused, for example, by vibrating the strings of a guitar or the vocal cords of the larynx. Those waves are transmitted through the air, which is pushed by the vibrations. The sound waves produced in this way eventually reach our ears where they are perceived by the eardrum, which is a very sensitive membrane.
