ELECTRICITY GENERATING BATTERIES – It begins with two experiments by the Italian doctor and physiologist Luigi Galvani (1737-1798), who investigated the shocks produced by electrical machines on dead frogs at the University of Bologna. He wrote “Commentary on the effects of electricity on muscular movement.” This was a great contribution to identifying how nerves within the human body are conductors of electricity, and it is through this means that messages from the brain are transmitted to the rest of the body.
