Motorola Car Phone Model TLD-1100, 1964.

On October 2, 1946, Motorola communications equipment was the basis for the first calls from the Illinois Bell Telephone Company, a new car radiotelephone service installed in Chicago. Due to the small number of radio frequencies available, the service quickly reached saturation.
