The first mass-produced GSM  (Global System for Mobile Communication) cell phone was the first major success  of Nokia 1011 (1992) of many that would come up until the advent of smartphones.

It cost 2,000 German marks at its launch, had SMS (Short Message Service) and was sold under the name Mobira Cityman 2000.
